Flora & Fauna

Portland has a wide , and sometimes, unique collection of flora and fauna, especially butterflies.
The seas around the Island are home to many varieties of fish, one can sometimes see our visiting seal, and porpoises and dolphin occasionally visit.
Birds, also live on, or visit the Island including some rare varieties, blown in on the Southwest Gales .
Flocks of Twitchers can be seen on the Island from time to time.
